beer

The Albanians like to drink beer and there are various local breweries that brew a light, tasty beer for hot summer evenings - from mild to bitter, from light to dark.

But also the whole European variety

from north to south is popular here and

you will find some of them in our fridge, too.

wine

From light house wines to accompany meals and mild summer evenings, which are produced in the immediate vicinity, to the autochthonous varieties of Albania, to the high-priced and - like the Papaz from the Belba winery in Kavaje - award-winning wines, Albania offers a small but very fine selection of high-quality wines.

These are - even when bought directly from the winemaker - priced higher than the general price level in Albania would suggest, but are well worth the money and can easily compete with the overpriced French and Italian wines on offer in the supermarkets - as they are EU imports.

Those who are interested in wine, choose the link below to a short excursion into the history of viticulture in Albania and some of the region's top wineries.

fresh wild herbal smoothies

A wild herb smoothie can be the perfect breakfast, the ideal snack or a quick lunch and makes a great contribution to your diet.

Just a handful of wild plants provides us with plenty of energy and nutrients. Due to their natural content of vitamins, minerals and secondary plant substances, they are usually many times superior to salads.

In addition, their tannins and bitter substances stimulate the gastric juices and support the liver.

The range varies depending on the season

water with natural flavour

Tap water in Albania is not necessarily of drinking water quality. Sometimes there are sediments, heavy metals or bacterial contamination possible, but mostly the taste is terribly affected by excessive use of chlorine.

The locals therefore usually buy fresh spring water cheaply (5 leke per liter), which is offered twice a week by water trucks in large stainless steel tanks, and fill it into large plastic bottles.

We have a reverse osmosis water filter with remineralization, which turns our tap water into high-quality pure drinking water.

Enriched with herbs, flowers or fruit, a delicious drink is created in the warm sunlight, which contains the variety of Mother Nature's flavours.
