brick by brick...

After a month of dealing with all my own emigration formalities (i.e. the German bureaucracy regarding cancelling things, giving notice, etc.) and beeing busy in school, I finally have time for a little update.

As a reminder, this was the stage we were at May 10th. In other words, we could already see the great potential of this shell. At that point, however, it was impossible to say how quick the work would progress.
Everything remained relatively quiet, but in the middle of May, truckload after truckload of bricks and sand were piled up in front of our house.
At first, only to the great joy of Bela and Bebja - finally something new to play with!
But soon also to the great joy of us...

... because the workers began to put up the walls at a rapid pace. This photo was taken 10 days later and offered a glimpse of the view I would enjoy someday from my bedroom and living room.
But that wasn't all. Ever since Xeni had been to our building site for the first time in April, he had had a plan in his head for a natural stone wall with steps leading to our olive grove. So every weekend, he and Xhuma came to realise this vision.

The dogs were also impressed by the new view.
And so were we...

And now the roses that Xeni brought and planted on the wall gift us with at least one new ‘rose of the day’ all the time.

At the same time, the construction of the house gathered pace. Up to 16 workers were scurrying around the building site every day. More and more it looked like the house that we had planned together with Azbie many months ago. And almost every day since then has been full of new miracles of progress.hjuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ÖPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

And when the evening dawns on our little hill, the dogs are put to bed and peace returns.
Then Andrea and Elmar sit on their little belvedere, tired from work and the summer heat, and admire the view over our land...
