Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. The philosophy behind permaculture is one of working with, rather than against nature, a philosophy of ongoing and considered observation rather than ongoing and thoughtless action; it regards systems in all their functions rather than asking only one kind of yield of them, and it allows systems to demonstrate their own evolutions.
(Bill Mollison, 1983. Permaculture II. Practical Applications)

And yes, we are newcomers to this field but we learn more and more, day by day – through success but also through setbacks – and have the aim to design our land completely according to the central principles of permaculture:

  • Diversity

  • Covering soil

  • Long-term

  • Site-adapted

  • Cooperation

agricultural use

Permaculture design and planning goes beyond organic farming. The aim of a permaculture design is to close the energy cycle and support nature in its ability

to provide abundance.
A good permaculture concept will take over much of the agricultural work. We use

natural energies (gravity) to move water, reduce water loss (windbreaks) and collect

and store nutrients (earthworks and strip farming).

There is no universal concept for landscape design in permaculture, because every

design is different, as it is based on the individual conditions.
The location of the individual elements such as the house, paths, irrigation system,

garden, vegetables, trees, etc. depends not only on the soil and the prevailing microclimate, but also on the available natural energies (wind, gravity, mud, water) because a productive connection should arise from this.
And what may appear to be a strange jumble compared to the usual order in the

flower bed, follows exactly these principles.

The olive harvest (mid-October and mid-November) is definitely the harvest

highlight!
It is time-consuming, meditative, exhausting, sensual, euphoric in view of
the shimmering olives in the sack... and makes your muscles howl in the evening ;)!
In any case, a very special experience, as you can read in our blog ‘olive harvest’.
